A Highlight
I forgot to mention one of my favorite moments on Engineer Pass! Tucked away on a green hilltop with beautiful surrounding trees and a stream nearby is the very cabin once owned by Henry David Thoreau... It is quite an adorable cabin and amidst magnificent mountains. No wonder he was inspired to write about nature. As an english minor and as one who loves to read and write, I was ecstatic and dreamt of writing the whole rest of the trail. Aaaah it was beautiful...

oh annie (: all i could think of when i was reading your post was the time that you and grandma and i were in that golf cart in catalina and grandma was driving on that really windy road on a giant cliff and you kept freaking out and yelling at her. and grandma and i just laughing and laughing and laughing. oh man, you were so upset with her...convinced that she was going to kill us by careening(?) over the edge (: haha. oh i love you anne.

that is a cool thing to see such an inspiring cabin. I loved living in the mountains of Colorado last fall.
